I like reading the movie reviews on here. I like to read about all aspects of the disc and presentation as a whole. I don't usually comment on reviews, mainly because a review is one persons opinion. I take it all in as best I can and store it away for future purchase decisions. What's fantastic for one could be boring for someone else etc. I get that, But... (personal opinion coming)

Could you maybe add to the review what the sound was like. I get that the respective reviewers don't like the way it is being delivered technically, but what was the sound like? How immersive was it? Are there any stand out moments? Were there good uses of object placed sound? How was the bass, the treble, the speech?

Under the section 'Sound Quality' there is no real mention of any of the above. As a 'review' it would be good to mention this instead of 4 paragraphs of technical delivery bashing. I understand why you're both unhappy with the delivery method as this is a passion of yours and you want the absolute best spec possible, but it would be good to read about the actual soundtrack in more depth, no matter what the technical specification of it is.

US release confirmed as a different master, as it the US title of Furious 7 onscreen, while ours has the bog standard Fast & Furious 7. A bit odd that, as Fast Five went out with that as the title card everywhere, regardless of it being retitled Fast & Furious 5 internationally.

It may be a touch of a different master then, but the audio codec is still exactly the same unfortunately.

I've added more detail to the DTS:X section on this review and the one for the Fast & Furious 6.

I received this email today from Universal

      Thank you for your e-mail.

After careful investigation of the DTS:X audio concern associated with Fast & Furious 6 and Furious 7 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment and DTS confirmed the technical problem is not specific to the discs. Some AVRs currently display and decode “DTS-HD HR” or “DTS-HD Hi Res” instead of “DTS:X” when playing DTS:X audio from some Blu-ray and Ultra HD Blu-ray discs. This will be addressed via an upcoming firmware update. DTS is currently working with AVR manufacturers to resolve the issue and will communicate next steps as soon as possible.
