FAO:Plasma owners-plasma stands/cabinets

To all plasma owners:
I was wondering where you all got your stands from and what you paid for them and if you could recommend anyone. The various sites I have been to show very expensive stands.

Is it possible to have a built to order stand (esp corner ones)??

thanks in advance

hi sash

a good place to start looking is Unicol , they make all the normal stands plus many other fancy units, some very nice ones in fact

Wall mounting was not an option for me given the layout of the room.

I ordered my Alphason corner unit / stand from http://www.robinsonselectric.co.uk/tv_stands.htm

There is a good range - I went for the AD3/67. Accomodates my 37" Panasonic easily. Bigger than it looks. The chap on the phone says it can take a 42" Plasma (Panasonic 42" only 5kg heavier).

It was £12 for delivery and came to less than £190 in total. Excellent quality although it does come flat packed. However, when constructed - 20 minutes later - it was solid as a rock.

If I can put it together anybody can.

Hope this helps.

My kit was supplied by Joe Fernand here on this forum.

Cabinet is by Arca see the advertised website, it is actually delivered already built!
Plasma Stand is by SMS - The beauty of this stand is that it sits on the cabinet and is height adjustable, which allows my centre Kef egg speaker to sit on the table wiht the plasma above it.

Regarding the expense, you are right it all adds up. (cables, stands, cabinets)

Go for the best you can you won't be dissapointed
