My centre speaker will be 46cm wide. The central hole on the OPPLI stand is 44.5cm wide AFAIK. Would it possible whilst fixing it together to shift one of the vertical central pieces out by 2cm by drilling new locating holes for dowel pegs and screws?

should be no problem at all

i would favour moving each 'side' so as to achieve a balanced look and stop the original holes in the baseboard being visible

also the shelves each side will need to be cut to fit the new opening and of course the centre shelf will no longer fit - but a piece of mdf cut to fit should be no problem

make sure the drill bit you use is not too large as the core material has little structural strength - if in doubt drill the new holes slightly smaller to start with

i have a kef 200c centre which is about 900mm long which i have placed on a special plinth cut around the plasma stand - to sit under the panel

    hope this helps
