As well as the delights of the Revenge of the Sith today, I got to see the Fantastic Four Trailer on the big screen for the first time.

I've been reading the FF since I was knee high to Yoda (the Lee and Kirby years!), and suddenly felt so overwhelmed with emotion, that I had tears of joy streaming down my face!!

It certainly does look good, and I'm glad that they've staid true to the characters, and even have them in their usual spandex costumes, and not gone for black leather costumes like the X-Men.

Perhaps I'd better not go see it in the cinema, as I might cause a flood!

    :D

In the very early FF comics, The Thing, wasn't as "rocky" as he's become over years.

In fact, several times over the years, they have returned him to this "retro" look.

Benjamin J. Grimm (aka The "ever loving blue eyed" Thing) is my favourite comic book character.

I also saw this trailer before ROTS and it definitely kicked up the anticipation a notch or two. :)

I thought it looked like a piece of crap. Sarcastic remarks about being superheroes and having to save the earth. What? Again? Oh alright, as long as I get to throw hilarious chat up lines at everyone on screen.

I was really worried about this. I am a FF fan and didn't want this mucked up. Went and looked at the trailers on the Apple site. Pretty excited now!

Have you ever read the FF?

The comic book has a very different tone to many other superhero comic books, and actually does contain a fair amount of humour (especially when Ben and Johnny get at each others throats).

One criticism that was made about the Spiderman movies, is that Spidey wasn't making his normal humourous remarks.

By the looks of it, they've put the humour element into the FF movie, to keep it close to the original material.

It may well be a "piece of crap" - I'm willing to give it a chance, and as a long term fan, I'm going to be somewhat more critical than the average punter going to see the movie.

I agree. I think I'll definitley go and see it. I wasn't a massive fan of the comics but the trailer seems to have got the 'feel' of the comics right.
