I'll definitely give this one a miss then, I didn't like the first one very much.

What a shame. I was really looking forward to some good old Pottery Christmassyness. I'll still watch it though, of course.

I was just thinking about it and it dawned on me, FB2 suffers from a servere case of the Iron Man 2’s ! Too many characters, lots of exposition and set up and little in the way of plot, not a great deal of what made the first work so well.

Felt like the set up for the next one by half way through. Defo think I wasted my loot going to watch the big screen.

I didn't hate Iron Man 2 so there's that I suppose. Anyway the Harry Potter universe for me is take it or leave it. So I am very disappointed that this sounds like it's geared more towards Potter heads rather than someone like me who was pleasantly surprised by a great first entry. We'll see I suppose.

Have to agree just back from watching this and found it a bit boring, was really looking forward to it after watching the first one a couple of weeks ago. I ended up nodding off a couple of times which might explain why I was pretty lost by the end.

I saw this tonight and thought it was passable. Entertaining enough I suppose, but lacking in plot and it was really just one long CG filled chase scene. It was rammed full of fan service, which as with other prequels only serves to make the world feel small.

Looked nice though, and I assume it was a 4K DI as it looked pretty sharp on IMAX, unlike the trailers before it (Aquaman and various other offenders) which looked comically bad.

I'm usually one for downgrading on all the marks AVF gives but for a change, for this I feel it's above a 6 and more like a 7 at least. Some of the comments are a little harsh.

To me there was more detail and back stories in there. There was more happening. I feel a second watching would be more interesting, picking up on missed bits and putting everything together.

Also this time it takes a big linking step into the Harry Potter world. Old and new coming together. It feels comfortably familiar.

      Solid 7/10 for me

I’ve just got out of seeing it too.
Yes it’s convoluted, but if you are invested in the wizarding world it’s very watchable.

I’ve just seen it at the Dolby Cinema in Disney Springs, and as a cinema experience it’s was amazing.

I saw this today with the wife and son and can't disagree more with the review. I thought this film was great. The story was good it never really hanged foe us. We are big Potter fans so maybe that has something to do with it but I thought the first one was weak and this one knocked it out of the park. It concentrated more on being a prequel then beasts and it was better for it.
And we saw it in 3D which I didn't want but was the only screening at that time that we could see. 3D was really good !
      Solid 8/10 for me.

Watched it today and I must admit I loved it. I found the first film a bit shallow but this one had far more depth, was far less frivolous and had some really dark concepts. I thought it felt like a grown up film that was part of something much bigger, setting the scene for the films to come and whilst there were far fewer beasts, what beasts they were had a proper place in the story.

Just my own thoughts. It would be a rum old world if we all thought the same.

We saw it in 3d to and I thought the 3d was great and added to the scale of the film

This is absolutely cheese balls, and much more stomachable films have been panned recently. I'd rather watch the Predator, justice league or bohemian rhapsody on repeat for the rest of my days than this ever again in my life.

I thought it wasn't that good, if I wasn't clear.

But all is just in my opinion, if you loved it then peace.

The 3D was terrific in the first one. One of best of the last big 3D films

It cannot be fizz-bang all the time! This is the second of a planned five films and is a deliberate slow down, a change of pace from the first in order to start establishing and fleshing out characters and plot lines. Even Macbeth has whole scenes often described as "the boring bits", written especially as just such a brake so that the audience is left gagging for the action to ramp up again. I'm not comparing J.K. Rowling to Shakespeare of course (She has way much more money than him!), just explaining the literary device. That said, there is still a great deal to enjoy in this film although, it having been a while since the first one and even longer since I watched or read anything Harry Potter, there were times when I was struggling a bit to recall some of the characters and how they fit into the general Potterverse.

This is just painfully slow and dull for the most part, I wish I had waited for the home release and I think the score of 6 is pretty fair

This seems to be mirroring the Harry Potter films, so I'll expect the next one to be the only really decent one of the lot. As far as my own personal tastes go, anyway.

A mixed reaction to any film seems fair to me.
I'm glad it's finding it's audience. I'm not a HP wizarding world fan by any means, but I do think this time of year doesn't feel right unless there's a film out there that's got something magical about it. It just adds something that you don't get from anywhere else in the build up to xmas

      Solid 8 from me.

I found this to be extremely average, bordering on poor.

Without trying to spoil anything I feel this movie may annoy a lot of people as nothing really happens as there is little to no plot. The entire movie basically just sets up the 3rd film.

Luckily my ticket was free due to the M&M's sweet's offer that was on. Even then it felt like I wasted hours watching this.

This is coming from someone who was pleasently surprised by the first one and actually thought that one was better than I had imagined it would be.

      This one I'm giving 5/10.

Potter fans seem to like these films, everyone else is unimpressed because when you take away the fan service stuff you can see how weak the story is. Thought the first one was poor so won't be going out of my way to see this one. 5 films? Lord help us...

Big Potter fan so if you liked them you’ll love this, where as the first laid the groundwork of who the characters were this one is more gritty. The wife and I went and seen it Saturday night in IMAX and loved it.

      A solid 8/10 from us.

I am a massive Harry Potter fan but I didn't like this. I found it boring in the most part (apart from a couple of good sequences) and it didn't really go anywhere.

      The cast were good though.

Not a Potter fan but enjoyed FB. This sequel was extremely boring at times and may as well been in Latin throughout, as I was totally lost with all the characters' names and terminology used. A solid 5/10 from me.
