Ok I just got the R2 release through the post from CDWow, bargain at £8.43

Anyway it has an Uncensored DD 5.1 track, an Audio Commentary with Seth MacFarlane, Animatic Comparison and an American Dad Preview so it is missing the Censored Audio track.

Lets have a sexy party :D

Stewie and Brian getting drunk and Stewie driving Quagmire's motor home are the best parts for me...was in stitches when I first saw them and had to watch them again to hear everything I missed whilst laughing the first time :rotfl:

Yes, the music from "Smokey and the Bandit" really cracks me up, with Stewie doing all the CB-lingo!

Time for a sexy party indeed!

    Hi,

I'm probably going to be shot for saying this, but I hated the film! It was very unfunny. The thing is, the weekly show's are fantastic, but the movie is dire! It's three stories rolled into one, and none of them are that great. Also, there are only a very, very few funny moments in the entire 88 minutes! Never have I been so let-down by a film version of a TV show, than this DVD! Definitely a :thumbsdow from me!

    HI pooch,
I must admit to bineg quite disapointed with the movie as well. I have all the shows that have been relased so far on region 2 dvd, and I think the movie is not a patch on any of them. In fact I found it to be just amusing in parts rather than laugh out loud funny. Its a shame really because I really am a big fan of the show. I think there are just two many off on a tangent, I remember when this happened, type jokes, rather than the odd one or two you get in the 20min shows. :(

Yes, it could have been better for me as well. A few stand out moments but that was it really. The best bit for me was when Stewie was in the "Dixons type shop" and asked if he could be served by someone who hadn't entered the country on a floating door :rotfl:

    Hi,

If people look closely at the end credits of the film, you will notice there are three Production Numbers - something like 4x06, 4x07, and 4x08 (or something very, very similar). This leads me to conclude that this was meant to be three distinct episodes from Season 4, and then someone decided that they should be stitched together to form the special "movie" on DVD.

It's really disappointing that such a great weekly show, has lost so much of its genuine humour, by trying to go overboard with the foul language and toilet humour in the film. It's not that either of those offend me, bu that it doesn't suit the style of what makes "family Guy" so great in the first place.

I don't think the "Simpsons" would be the same either, if they made that into a movie-length episode. I don't think that either show can sustain its usual high quality, over 80 minutes.

I loved the movie. I know it felt like three epsiodes stuck together but for me that just meant 3 times the jokes.

I love the quick phrases that just get chucked in and you only have time to think "Did they really say that? No they couldn't have..." and then another one hits you.

PoochJD, instead of looking at the end credits for the production numbers, the beginning credits had the details of 3 directors so I think that was more of a tipoff of an edited together "film". I think it actually said the 3 episode names.

    JDSlater,

That's true, but it's not uncommon to have different sections of a film like "Family Guy" to be directed by different people. The same thing happens with "Twilight Zone The Movie" as well, even though that's not made-up of different episodes. :)

Just wanted to add to my comments above. I do like this film but I finihsed watching all the US episodes (classed as season 4/5) last night and they are MUCH better than the movie.

They have gone so far with the new episodes it make the movie look very tame indeed!

couldnt find a thread for the series on its own so thought id join in here if thats ok?

doesnt seem to be many watching the latest series, 4 or 5 or whatever they are calling it. overall its been good, about 16 episodes so far, but its only the last three were its been consistently good. early on it had some great moments though.

stewie is finally back to his old ways. and the bit with chris and that old guy, was both funny and wrong at the same time. and the movie references are still great.

That would be because it hasn't been screened by any UK television broadcaster yet - you would have to view these episodes by 'other' means.

I borrowed a DVD with all of season 4 on and four episodes of season 5 from a girl at work.

I just wish there was more Quagmire in the series as he is a fantastic character...giggidy giggidy giggidy....oh yeah :D

Stewie is my hero, best animated character I have ever seen ;)

I admit the film wasn't what it could have been, was it only me that thought the the equivalent of the last eiposde was a bit of a nod to the 40 year old virgin?

I've just got series 4 on DVD and am starting to think that Family Guy is going a bit downhill :( For me, there just wasn't enough Stewie stuff and violence - he doesn't seem to be wanting to kill Lois any more ! There are too many scenes where they are acting out films (such as Indiana Jones and Blue Brothers) and that long drawn out fight with the giant chicken was painfully unfunny for me. I just fear it may be going down the same route as the Simpsons and will soon be not funny at all :(
