False wall, glass shelves etc etc

Hi all,
We were discussing the new AV room over a beer or two earlier and an idea emerged.

Mounting the TV on the wall as normal, making a false 'wall' beneath it (as wide as the TV so it appears to be 'resting' on the wall.

All wire work is placed behind the false wall.

Wire holes (about 2" hole) drilled into the false wall.

Equipment placed (in front of wire holes) on Glass shelves (cut to fit if poss) and mounted on false wall.

Hopefully giving the impression that the Equipment is suspended in thin air under the TV in various places.

Anybody done anything like this? photo's would be great :D

ive not done one but it was an idea to do one at a point, but all i was going to do was attach the tv bracket onto the wall then attach batons matching the depth of the bracket so its flush with the tv and after all the batons were in place and holes cut out in places i would cover with thin mdf.
my plan has changed so i cant really help u with it but i think u know what it is u are after doing.
