Faith No More - Angel Dust

mini review time

Delve into any one track on this album and you would'nt have a clue as to what sort of music this band makes.

From a cover of Lionel Ritchies 'Easy' and an interpretation of John Barrys' midnight cowboy, through doom metal, early iron maiden and funked up heavy rock which veers between the early Chillies and Rage against the machine, to grunge in the form of Sound garden et al. It reminds me very much of QOTSAs songs for the deaf.

If you like heavy/ funky /grungy mixed with light entertainment then this should brighten your day. Im just off to give it one more spin :D :D

ita a great album mate, but i dont think you`ll find "easy" on it:rolleyes:

if you want their definitive album, check out "the real thing"
a groundbraking album if ever there was one,and responsible in no small way, for the way alot of rock music sounds today, its an absolute gem:smashin:

Angel Dust is a fantastic album - my version doesn't have Easy on it tho. Think they must have rereleased it after Easy did well. :(

I recently dug out an old Mr Bungle album - one of Mike Pattons many projects - great stuff too.

I bought this album at (approximately) time of release. My copy does not have Easy on it.

However I believe karkus is correct. This was an early example of an album being re-released with a new track on it - because that track, as a single or B-side, is a huge hit and could boost album sales significantly! My memory is hazy but it must have been a few months / one year after initial release.

It annoys me when record companies do this. I never re-bought this album.

However karkus thanks for reminding me of a great album, it's on my stereo as I type.....

**EDIT** - sorry tomson mate, just read your post properly, you got there first...:smashin:

Another thumbs up for the real thing - their best album, closely followed by the aptly named album of the year.

My favorite FNM cd is also the first cd I ever bought, - The Real Thing Tour- Live at Brrxton Academy.
Have had to buy it again recently due to excessive scratching (I had mp3'ed it but they were low quality) but it was well worth the money.

Have to agree with you guys about Angel Dust - FNM at their very best.

Still think 'Introduce Yourself' with the previous vocalist was pretty cool too tho'

:)

My copy would have been bought on or near release day and doesn't have it - I feel cheated!

'Jizzlobber' Is that about the bloke in the cell next to Lecter's?

Can't believe Angel Dust is already 12 years old.
