Hi Guys

How to check if a newly bought AV Denon receiver and Dali 5.1 speakers are brand new and not previously opened box?

Do they come with any factory seals?

Thanks
Jay

It is typically not that hard to tell. If the box has uneven double taped seal, it has likely been opened and re-closed. Likely the original tape was put on by a machine, and the re-seal was put on by hand, and less likely to be smooth and even.

Also, though the seller should have been honest, a box simply being opened does not mean the speakers are used or in anyway lesser. It doesn't necessary not mean that either.

Curious why you are asking?

Hi Steve

Thanks, thats helpful. I am planning to buy a new system. They also sell open box items. So I just want to ensure I am buying a brand new system, hence trying to find the tips how to check that.
Mostly planning to buy from RS as there are good reviews about them.

Cheers
Jay

There is a hifi specialist not far from me ( sell tellys aswell)
Everything you buy from there breaks down after a while and I think they only sell refurbs/repacked gear BUT what really pees me off is that they won't budge from rrp........ their customers are easily conned, Never mention that its not brand new " ever"

That's bad.
To avoid such problems.. I am thinking to take 6 years super care / warranty from Richersounds. And I think they pay back the money paid towards warranty at the end of 6years if we don't need to use it..or if our system doesn't break,
