Hey, i'm not much of a computer person so don't know if this is a good idea.

I only have a cheap 'emachines' laptop but it has a load of viruses on it, probably from downloading music, and have never really sorted out a proper security programme on it. The performance of it has dramatically declined and it's become so slow.
Will factory reseting the laptop do any good?

WIll it get rid of the viruses?

What other things will I lose? (documents, settings etc.)

Any help would be much appriciated

Probably best posted in the Computer Forum mate. :smashin:

If you format it and wipe it you will loose everything (unless you back it up).
No question wiping and reinstalling will improve performance but there are steps to take before that.

But as I said, best in the Computer section.
