    Hi all,

Could someone reccomend me some cable and methods of running some component cable form one faceplate to another.

I'm in the process of rewiring my cellar and have a face plate that does component, Svideo and composite.

What sort of cable will I need for the component and composite and is it ok to run a 4 - 5m stretch of it?

    Thanks in advance,

    Matt

Component cable is basically 3 separate runs of 75 ohm coax cable. (same as TV aerial cable)
Composite is a single length of 75ohm coax cable.
Use good quality cable like CT100 or similar as a minimum.
4 - 5 metres is no problem for good quality cable.

You could use a five core 75 ohm Multicore for the YUV + S-Video plus a single run of 75 ohm for the Composite video.

We most often use and supply VanDamme cables for installations - they have a fair old range to choose from; drop me a PM if you require more info on what's available.

    Best regards

    Joe

I hvae extended my connection between DVD/Video and projecttor to opposite sides of a room, about 7m of cable. I have put in a 3 point component wall socket at each end, however I am now getting a sort of corduroy effect on my projected image. I have used a 6 core cable (a bit like telephone cable) for the connections. Any advice for this amateur!!
