Is the HD Ready Pioneer better than the Full HD Panasonic?

Post your comments regarding SD, HD and gaming.

Bit early to be doing a poll like this atm mate as hardly any of us have our Panny's yet... You're likely to get very biased votes from Panny/Pioneer bashers...

A better (non adversarial) poll would be:

Are you happy with your 508/PZ70

a probable 95+% yes vote and then everyone's happy :D

I think this is more a "lets see how Pioneer fanboys vote as to Panasonic fanboys" poll.

I'll have a wager Pioneer comes out top

The trouble is, most, if not all of the pioneer fan boys have probably never seen a panny 42pz70 in the flesh, nevermind side by side.:rotfl:

Without reiterating the obvious, surely only somebody who has seen both TVs, side by side, both optimally set up, could possibly cast a genuine opinion as to which is considered best.

But if it helps, i'll play: The Pioneer is best for everything...

(pretend you haven't seen my sig)

PS - i have to confess, i never seen the Panny in question.

I've genuinely seen both professionally set up as 2 of my mates have them , not a skerrit of difference in my eyes and to be honest the Goodmans seemed far better as it had a built in DVD !! Top that :smashin:

If that's the one that comes in a dirty grey colour it gets my vote as well, paired with a nice s/h set of Alba active stereo speakers it's an unbeatable combo :smashin:

Well I should have added that I have seen both side-by-side playing Sky SD & Casino Royal Blu-Ray... IMO the Pioneer looked better for everything but only because of its deeper blacks... Other than the blacks, both displays look as good as each other :).

Despite wanting the Pioneer for the above reason, I've decided that I'd be getting ripped off shelling out that much money so have gone for the equally incredible Panny :).
