Anyone know where I can lay my hands on some subwoofer interconnect cable? I need 2 runs of 15m but the longest I can find is 10m.

    Regards
    John

Talk to groundy from these forums...... he makes 'Scorpion' cables and one of his cables is specially intended for subs.

Thanks Buns, trouble is the Scorpion are about £70 a throw. Would really like to only spend £40 a run but if £70 is what is required so be it. It probably seems tight but once you add up all the cable it costs a fortune. To date for all my cable ex the subs cable and a long stereo pair for the digibox, the total spent to date is over £1,000...I defintely wasn't budgeting for that amount!!!

    Cheers
    John

Ahhhh right...... well then buy some cable off the reel and make your own..... i think you'll be puched to get much cheaper than Groundy's cables, and you will definitely have trouble getting as well made a cable for that price!

15 meters of 75 ohm cable is ganner cost around £8 for the thin stuff and gold plated plugs are a quid each........
If you have a soldering iron, then you have saved between 30-50 quid...if not, then a soldering iron is ganner cost another £10.

It will work and sound just as good as a £70 cable or evern a £200 cable....the extra price you pay for a ready made one, is for the fancy coloured cable and a posh bit of heat shrink on the plug.

It makes me laugh (inside of me), when i am in a shop watching people buying cables at £30 a go.

    Thanks Chris for your input.

Are you saying that all 75ohm cable is equal?

    Regards
    John

There are a few diff quality coax cables around.

Do a serch and find the one that suits your needs.
Its been a while since i brought any(prob about 6 years)........still have loads in the loft, that i use to make my interconnect cables.
My sub cable is made of digi sat coax at mo and is about 18 meters long, works just as good as a 3 meter one i borrowed a little while ago that was made by one of the big companys.
