External Sata Drive formatting to FAT32

Established Member
I am running vista and would like to format this drive to Fat 32 for use with PS3 but windows will not allow this. Any ideas on how to do this will be greatly received.

Thank You

PS it is in a USB2 enclosure

I format my drives like this

Right Click My Computer and click manage

Click Disk Management under Storage

Right Click the drive and select Format and then choose the format you want

Works for external drives perfectly.

this is a regular 'problem'

havn't tried this but these people appear to have a quick program to format drives here .

Could be better than purchasing other tools to do the job.....

WinXP wont FAT/FAT32 format discs larger than 32Gb, it needs 3rd party tools... hence the OP's problem/question.

He is running Vista. I have yet to find a source stating that Vista is limited to the 32gb, so I assumed it wasn't.

The issue maybe that the OP is trying to make a boot partition on the disc in FAT, which Vista refuses to do.
