I am looking to buy a 2TB External Drive . At the moment I have the Western Digital MyBook World 1TB 3.5" Network Drive. which is first class But I am running out of space my kids are eating it up with backups etc. Should I be looking to add to the current drive it has a usb connector or should I just go for a standalone drive any advise would be helpful

Plugging it into your NAS would allow users to read/write to it over the network, so IMO the choice I would make..........

its will be still be a stand alone drive, its just you have the choice to plug it into a Computer or the NAS..
