I am new to the forum.

I would like to know if there is an external portable dvd writer that can be connected to a PC and TV?

This is a really interesting question and I don't know if it has ever been answered by the AV manufacturers.
The only thing I have noticed that could be used is a DVD recorder that has an ethernet port such as the DMR E500, I know you can view the device on your PC but since it i not physically attached to your PC I'm not sure you can control its functions.
Maybe someone can prove me wrong?

    thanks ElchenUK

I am a little bit surprised that no manufacture has gone down this route, I am sure if there was a device which works seemlessly between PC/TV with simple connection it would generate a lot of interest. Ah well I will have to buy  2 DVD recorders one for my PC and one for my TV.
