Can anyone recomend a good external battery for my philips pet700 dvd player, the li-on battery that comes with it is 4400mAh at 7.2v but only gives 3hrs play, idealy i would like to double or triple my playing time for long flights. Im considering building a pack using nimh cells but cant seem to find anything above 3000mAh. All the external batteries ive seen seem to be very expensive for what they are (80.00 upwards) compared to what it would cost to build my own (about 30.00). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just to let everyone know, I've found a really good li-on external battery suitable for portable dvd players etc at www.allcam.biz, 50quid gets you an extra 5-6hrs play time and the pack is smaller than the battery that comes with my pet700. It runs at either 9v or 12v so u can use it with anything that uses a car charger with a bit of modification to the output lead.
