Depends how much you plan to spend. If it looks flimsy I'd try and avoid it, conversely, if it looks well made and ideally includes some RFI suppression you could be on to a winner

I use a 7-socket Belkin Gold surgemaster that was just over £30 from Amazon. Very good it is too :)

Have a look at SoundFantastic I know they are a little bit more money but they are very well made and come in 4/6/8 configurations... :)

Sounds silly, but will this be any good?

It just seems hard to justify spending lots on a power lead.

It might be a little more than you were planning but I bought the Belkin PureAV from Amazon, 8-way for £60. It has layered power filtration (power gets progressively more filtered across each pair of sockets), passes through phone and satellite/cable so all your AV cables are surge protected and has an unlimited warranty.

I was sceptical beforehand and really bought it for the insurance and the fact that it surge protected *all* my cables including sky. It really did make a difference to my amp's sound I wasn't expecting.

Oh and it's really, really well built - solid metal and wall-mountable so you can separate power cables more easily.
