    Hi

I was wondering if there is a limit to how long a joystick extension cable can be. I have my PC in one room and a projector in the next. I want to run a extension cable to a steering wheel to play Colin Mcrae on the big screen.

Any advice would be most welcome. Has anyone made their own extension cable ?

    many thanks

which interface does your steering wheel use? USB, Serial, Gameport or Parallel? There are limits to the lengths of the cables but they vary for the different cable types. USB cables have a maximum length of 5m, Serial is 15m, Parallel is 10m. Can't find a specification for the gameport cable, but i'd imagine it's similar to parallel and serial in the 10-15m range.

Many thanks for the reply Marc.

My steering wheel has a gameport interface. I expect that the cable I would need is about 5-10M , so it sounds as if it should be ok with that length.

    regards
