extended warranties for sam/SP46L3HX

can anyone advise me,i am about to order a samsung sp46l3hx,just been looking in currys, its hard to tell how good the picture is as none of the sets on show seem to have a very good "feed" anyway what i really wanted to ask, is the extended warranty worth having its £369 for an extra 2 years and £499 !! for an extra 4 years considering replacement lamps are excluded ! it seems a lot of money to me ,what else is likely to need fixing?

Try here I think you will find it £281.00 for 5 years including lamp and accidental damage. I have an email stating they will cover the bulb.

I've just ordered one of these from Currys, and they sold me a new thing they were doing, appently it came out on Thursday.

It's an extend thingy, and does a 3 and 5 year option and a pay as you go option, I think the prices were something like 360ish for the 3 year and 480ish for the 5 year, and the pay as you go was 13.99 I think which is what I chose, this does cover the bulb for as long as you have the policy, an engineer will be out within 2 days, and if it can't be fixed within 21 days, then a new set would be supplied either the same one, or if not available then a better spec one.

But I thought the pay as you go was quite a good price, and you can of course cancel when ever you want.

I don't generally go for extened warrenties but with the bulb being included I thought it was a good deal.
