    Hi all,

I'm looking into extending the 1 yr warranty for my 42PWD6 does anyone know how much Panasonic charge for an extra year or two?

This seems a good idea as my panny is back with them being fixed :(

I saw some prices quoted circa 380+ Vat for the yr 2, and yr3 of a panasonic's life from panasonic, or it was about half that for an 'insurance backed' warranty from joe-soap insurance company.

These , from memory, were just 'around' on the on-line sites flogging the panny so try some of those and look at the 'options' and there'll be warranty prices. Ask panny themselves would be top bet..!

AV-Sales are quoting £264 for years 2 & 3 with Panasonic, although I'm not sure if you can get this retrospectively. Worth asking though.

The told me that I couldn't get a warranty at that price retrospectively because they were selling them below cost with their new offer (I won't mention actual figures because I appreciate they have competitors with a presence on the board) - although they did offer some reduction. If you are a good customer then I imagine their willingness to discount may be higher. Also I am told there is a deadline that the warranty must be registered with Panasonic no later than 1 month after date of purchase.

    Thanks for the input folks.

I never realised you could/had to register via their website until today

I did so earlier and the site quoted me approx £250 for 1yr and £530 for 2 yrs. I say approx because I had to go out and now cant get into that page without registering again!

Panasonic use D&G for the warranty.

I'm keen to sort something out as I bought it in October. (and this its 2nd fault :( )

I got it from AV Sales, i'll see what they can do..

    Hi nickc,

Did you get anything sorted ?

My 1st year warranty expires in July so I'm keen to extend also.

Well, I had a read of the T&C's for the Panasonic extended warranty.

You have to sign up within 30 days of purchase :(

    I got quoted from D&G:

    1yr £299
    2yr £549

    yikes

    Give these guys a call:

    http://www.tadlassist.com/

They've quoted me £219 (Panny 10 months old) for a 2 year extended warranty which includes parts\labour and a loan set whilst your screen is being fixed.

I was dubious at first but after talking to them and with jasonjo I think they seem genuine and I'm prepared to give them a go.

Good news Jay - hopefully you won't have to use it ;)

For those of you with plasmas < 6 months old you can get the TADL 42" 3yr cover for £199 from here: http://www.stuff-uk.net/acatalog/Plasma_Screen_Warranty.html

Av-Sales and Nexnix are also doing some really good deals on warranty when you buy the plasma from them...
