Check out camelcamelcamel.com for price history on Amazon stuff, should give you an idea on what the price is now relative to what it has been, and how it compares to other site prices :)

Well according to that the cheapest it has ever been on Amazon is 24.99. Can't imagine why someone would have a problem paying 22 quid for it. I picked one up. Now, if only they shipped in boxes instead of those stupid card mailers :(

Just buy it - if you're anything like me you'll never look at the price again once you have it!

Ok, ok guys the thing is i've got the boxed trilogy with the fourth one separately all on DVD. I know the second title on BD is uncut (at last) and it's a matter of upgrading onto blu-ray, that's why i'm hesitating. I always said to myself that if a title was around a fiver (which these work out at) then I would "probably" upgrade to the higher def versions. My last question is....Is the difference between the DVD and BD versions good enough to do a double dip, especially at the price?

Doesn't that depend on what you watch it on? I've got a projector so 99.9% of the time the answer is 'yes'.

BluRay compared to DVD is night and day to my eyes - given the choice I would definitely pick BD over DVD!

Just to prove that opinions differ, I too have them on DVD and won't be upgrading unless/until it drops around 50% from here! ;)

So you'd buy them if they were 11 quid? I'd buy everything if it was 11 quid :)

I don't consider it double-dipping if you are moving from one format to another.

Depends how much value you think you'lll get. For "classics" I'll always upgrade cos I know I'll always watch them once every couple of years. I've bought the Alien series now 4 times over - indiviually on VHS, twice on DVD (the second time for the special editions) and for the 4th (final?) time on blu I got the anthology set. Indy, like all classics, is timeless, peerless entertainment, I'd always plump for the best format.

The upgrade is well worth it in my opinion, the remasters look and sound great

Bet you're wishing you'd just bought now it's gone?

This isn't supposed to be rude but I honestly can't understand why anyone in this day and age would have any DVDs in their collection. I shot my lot into space. Think I kept 5 that aren't out on blu but they will go once they get released. Also it's not a double dip. A double dip is robocop :)

P.s. This took about 5 minuets to write. What's up with the site?

You can't understand why anyone would have any? Really? :(

This isn't the place to debate it, but that's surely quite an extreme view. I still have 3500 and the majority won't be replaced, mostly either because the content isn't available in HD or the DVDs are good enough anyway.

I don't understand why anyone would collect full stop.
Each to their own view but for me, i simply don't have the time anymore to revisit movies i've already seen. I have 2 boxes up my loft filled with DVD's, all worthless given the change over to BD.
After deciding to not get my fingers burnt again, i sold all my BD's a long time ago. I now have a handful that i've kept, Disney's for my Son and a couple of classics (in my eyes anyway) that are actually still unopened and never watched!!

Like i said, each to their own and i'm not knocking anyone who wished to keep a collection :)

It might be extreme but my views have changed. I would collect for the sake of collecting until I realised I wouldn't watch 90% of them again. I probably only add 5 films to my collection a year unless a back catalogue film I want to watch and keep comes up.

Seriously what's up with the forum? It's so slow at typing.....

I think the cheapest Amazon had Indy was £22.99 during their Black Friday. It was the same price last year and the year before.

I still have loads of DVD's (and still buy them).

Since I went blu I've bought only two DVDs. The Sentinel (the good one, by Michael Winner) and The Devils. I still have all my DVDs (around 2,500 - 3,000) and my HD DVDs and my LDs. I still have some VHS tapes as well :)

DVDs are worthless now so rather than sell them for pence I'd rather hang onto them. Who knows, I may want to watch The Mexican again some day. I'm going to put them in some sort of storage case though and bin the boxes to make way for more BDs :)

This is true. I still have about 20 for sale I keep relisting on eBay. They do sell one by one though, and eventually I'll have to get rid of more as upgraded titles are announced.

I do occasionally get DVDs. Only really if a) they're not available on blu-ray, or b) they're under about £5 (the maximum I'd likely pay for a film on DVD...different for TV boxsets though). I have bought some DVDs over £5 recently but they have been Eureka titles so are worth getting, and might not be upgraded by Eureka any time soon.

Yeah I know, oh well I will wait little longer for this set on BD. Hey for all I know it may end up selling at a lower price somewhere else seeing that "Sainsburys" are finishing physical discs on its website sometime next month.

    Fringe: Season 5 - £8 too.

They've all been in the 'clearance' section for a while, but these are further price reductions.
