Please can I have your opinions on whether this is a good idea.

It will be driving a pair of Rogers LS4a front speakers and I'll be getting some new rear and centre speakers (possibly Spendor).

    Sound sources will be:
    Marantz CD50 CD player
    Toshiba SD220E DVD player
    Pro-ject Debut II turntable
    Sky box

Is the Yamaha a worthy successor for the B1? how would they compare? Will it give good results with some of the more 'antique' parts of the system - ie the speakers and the Marantz? Or would something else work better for the same sort of price as the Yamaha - if not, what sort of money do I need to spend?
