6/10 for the movie???? Minimum I could give it is an 8. Also, the commentary track (taken from the dvd) with Bruce Campbell, Sam Raimi...etc is one of the funniest commentary tracks ever - and worth it for that alone!

I’m in agreement, I think Evil Dead 2 is the worst of the 3 films, I loved it when I was younger, just doesn’t hold up very well any more, or more likely I have just grown out of it

It's rare I disagree so completely with a film review on here – everyone's entitled to their opinion, but Evil Dead II is a card-carrying masterpiece that continues to influence the entire horror genre to this day. It is, pound for pound, one of the greatest horror creations of all time, while at the same time somehow managing to be one of the greatest comedies. Flabbergasted.

I mean, there are essays and treatises written about single shots from this movie's huge swathe of groundbreaking camera work, and that's just for starters.

Since you 'don't get on with it' (totally fair enough, of course), maybe should have been handed to another team member? I used to review games for a living, and we would never hand a footy game review to someone who doesn't like footy – just an example.

The review rating was funny enough without this.

      Maybe (Evil)dead inside.

6/10....?!! Crikey, I know reviews are largely subjective, but that borders on trolling. Evil Dead 2 is a horror comedy classic, easily an 8 if not a 9.

I have to agree evil dead 2 is a masterpiece of 80's horror it is a strong 9 .It's has both Raimi and Campbell on top form. But I like the US slipcover better .I thought the uk slipcase is a bit of a lazy effort.

I guess I'm 13 or 14 years old, browsing for the nights entertainment in the local video shop / off license. My parents have gone out for the evening and left me with enough money for a video, some sweets and some pop. I pick up the Evil Dead 2 when someone suddenly grabs my arm. It's a guy who is obviously plastered. 'That film is amazing. You need to get that mate' he says. He then calls his friend over who is even more drunk than him. They spend the next five minutes wobbling unsteadily whilst giving me a bizarre review of the movie, complete with sound effects and re-enactments of key scenes. I feel somewhat uncomfortable but their enthusiasm is infectious. Needless to say I rented it and ran home with my bag of Raspberry Ruffles and bottle of cream soda, eager to watch the crazy guy with a chainsaw for a hand. That night has long stuck in my memory and Evil Dead 2 has been one of my favourites ever since. Hail to the King.
