Shame they haven't done the first film and Army of Darkness as well, although that artwork is awful

I think that there maybe little improvement on the first film given how and the film stock used. I could be wrong. It's like the 28 Days on blu ray it's hardly any different from the dvd. As always just because you can is the result going to be that much better?

    Yup.

I'm a massive fan of the trilogy, but I'm not buying just 2nd film with no indication of the others coming and more importantly if they will be done in the same style. And I'm not a fan of the straight look to the camera on many designs. Shame as I quite like everything else about it.

Sorry, forgot to add that this is where the likes of Kimchi DVD wee wee all over Zavvi. "One Click" boxset and I'd hand over a sum of money I'd never tell the wife about.

    This, exactly.

Why release the second in the series in glorious UHD and skip the first one?

I would not worry too much guys...
The mockup was probably taken from the shared French release.

I don't find the artwork bad, its just the coloring bad, I think it be great if they used full colours instead of just 2 on a white(or silver) background.

i have the Book of the Dead version w/ the sculpted skinned face on it, far better collectable than this, IMO, though i do think that art is cracking.

As the first Evil Dead movie was shot on 16mm you have to wonder if a 4k release would be worth bothering with. The 4:3 version looks pretty good on the standard Bluray but the zoomed in widescreen version some releases are stuck with isn't as good quality.

I've just ordered the AOD steel from a UK ebay seller - only £25.99 for all 3 versions

AOD steelbook is £17 from WowHD.

Edit - Perhaps + 20% as Wow have introduced VAT for UK deliveries now.

Haven't used Wow for ages. Usually too slow. Now they add 20% to £15+ orders virtually no point of using them at all.
The ebay seller usually has things in stock before the US release date so many items are received before US release rather than 10 days after. The ebay seller is a bit more expensive but for certain titles I don't mind paying a bit extra to get them early.
The recent Warner Archive of Village of the Damned for example arrived the day before the US release but was about a fiver cheaper on Wow

Are Zavvi likely to bring back in stock prior to release as they usually do on these pre orders?

Anywhere else selling ED2 as a standard UHD?

What do you mean with "aren't of the same design"? For previous releases?
In this case, it is a shared release so only the J-cards will be different in Europe but the steelbook design/art is the same.
If i got this wrong, do not worry as i didn't have enough coffee yet ;)

Ah okay. Yes I meant a 4K UHD release that perhaps wasn’t a steelbook or has different artwork on the case.
