I know very little about plasmas, my home cinema is projector-based, but I was in Evesham Micros today on business and they have a 42" 'Evesham' plasma for £1599.

When I was looking at plasmas last year, before deciding to go for a projector, I looked at the then popular Panny 5, Hitachi whatever etc. and recall being not too impressed, they looked very pixelly until you were well away from the screen.

This plasma I saw today though was excellent, even only 3' from the screen. Yes, there was a noticeable screendoor but that doesn't bother me, what impressed me was the clarity, contrast and lack of pixellation. I have no idea of its' resolution.

So my question is, does anyone know which brand these are and how come the price is 1/2 a typically recommended one? At this price I could be persuaded to have one for when the large-screen is not totally necessary.
