I never look at it, anything worthwhile on the HD selection (if they're included, it didn't specify).

Mine just dropped through the letterbox. When I saw it was from TW, I thought it was gonna be junk mail. How surprised was I to get an apology for 'Black Saturday :D '. I will give one of the HD PPV movies a go - as it doesn't say you can't!

    Thanks TW - it shows you're trying...

I've been using the PPV HD Films service a little and had begun to assume that all HD films come with DD5.1 sound as standard.

Yesterday i watched the one with Sean Bean in the Welsh country (The Dark ??) and it was just in stereo.

This is very poor as the sound is important to me. Its cheaper to rent a DVD from my local corner shop and have DD5.1 with my upscaling player, but am happy to pay a premium for HD films WITH DD5.1 (and pay for a little convenience).

All the others i have seen (Deuce Bigalo, Da Vinci Code, Flightplan, Geisha plus a couple of others) have been in DD5.1.

Is there anyway of finding out the soundtrack before paying ?

Depends what you mean by coming clean.
According to a telewest employee, black saturday was caused by a disgruntled employee who was about to be made redundant who sent malicious code out.

What about the people who have PremPlus? We lost two matches on "Black Saturday" We haven't had any compensation as yet, unless they are going to refund us the money on our next invoice. (some hope!!) I could understand Telewest not giving a refund if the matches had been called off, something Telewest had no power over. But this was Telewests problem, no one else's.

The letter said they had loads of top titles including Pirates of the Carribean.

Missus wants to see it but I couldn't find it in any of the listings?

But yep, i got a freebie letter too, and I didn't complain either.

Got mine, sat down last night to watch Hostel HD only to find 4 minutes in the picture and sound were about 1/2 a second out of sync... way to annoying to watch!

Phoned Telewest and left the details with the Indian call centre

Gave up with hostel and watched Jet Li's Fearless, pretty disapointed with it! Bet I get charged for both movies!

I meant the new one though I could find no mention of either in the listings.

I didn't complain about the outage bear in mind it's only TVDrive users that were affected, for a few hours there we had no high def programming

Apparantly the free Movie does not include the HD ones.

    http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=505499

"i phoned them this morning to ask if hd ppv were included they said no

    update at 15.04

i phoned again and double checked HD Films are not included in the goodwill gesture

Good old telewest, can't even get the 'compensation' offer right. It says on the letter you can have a free film, nowhere does it say it has to be one of the £3.50 ones. I'm sure if you order an HD film you'll be charged £1 and then spend far more than £1 of effort arguing that you shouldn't have been charged...

And as someone has already pointed out, the letter also claims that films such as Miami Vice are available when Miami Vice isn't available on the listings at all. So even the apology letter contains human errors.

Being as it was the Fiancee who missed some of her programmes on the Saturday I let her pick and I got to watch American Dreamz. I had wanted to watch Ultra Violet but after reading these posts I am actually glad I let her pick.

I think I'd rather have the £3.50 so I'll see if it's added next bill.

    The letter was very unclear

I think I would phone up with letter in hadn and ask where it says what and what not films are offered.

After establishing it doesn't specify what and what not films are offered I'd ask why I was being told my HD film was not offered?

Please don't settle for this people :lease:

I have to agree with Kevin. The letter says a free film as an aoplogy. It doesn't say anything about restrictions or categories. That's crystal clear to me.

Like most i'm not one for complaining about small things, but don't forget that it uses TW resources to answer the phone and deal with the complaint, so i see it as a small punishment on them.

I'm going to wait for the bill to arrive and then see what i have been charged for or not. Then, in the spirit of "people power" Kevin P, i'll have a pop at them if i dont get the full refund on the HD film.

You can watch what you like, as they put a £3.50 credit on your bill.... even if you dont have a movie. So by "tricking" you into thinking you are getting a free movie, you are actually spending the £3.50 credit, meaning they are selling you a product and not losing as much money

If you choose a £4 movie, you will be billed:

    Credit: -£3.50
    Movie: £4.00
    Cost 50p to you.
