Not sure if this is best in this forum or the PC games one, but I'm opting for this one, no duplicate threads from me!

I downloaded the original version of everquest from UbiSoft yesterday, and I'm now trying to get started. I've put in my registration information, including my key, and then connected to the server, whereupon it says I don't have a subscription. I imagine that my free month comes when I first subscribe.

The game points me to a screen, where the only option available to me is "Global Collect". I click on this, and get told that Everquest will close and I'll go to Sony's website to setup a subscription. Fair enough. But when it closes, and tries to get on to the Sony store subscription page, I get a type 500 (I think) error, and it does nothing else.

None of the FAQ's or forums on eqloft.com seem to mention this, so is it a temporary problem, or one that people have come across before?

Sorry for the long post, just a bit frustrated!

    Hehe, don't start playing EQ!!!!!

It will suck you in and make you a dry husk of a man (or woman)! When I played years ago, all registration was done through the game client, you should need to enter in your credit card details etc.

Cannot be much more help, sorry.

Ditto on the "not playing" front.

I just quit my daoc account, oh how I'm glad I did. MMORPGs are great fun, but they take up WAY too much time, to the point where it's not healthy.

I've now got a Star Wars Galaxies account, but I'm damned if I'm logging in..... ;-)

Ooooooooooooo, you lucky so and so!! I really want to play Galaxies!! I still can't get into Everquest: I've now got into the Global Collect area, given them my switch details, but still nothing. There appears to be the square root of not very much tech support, to make matters worse.

    Arse.

I wasn't just talking about the **** comment, it's constantly changing, thats what balancing gameplay is about. To post on a public board that you think a game thats still in beta is **** when it's still under NDA and is far from finished is stupid.

So I see your  and raise you
