OK thought that I'd post here as well as send out an email to you all. I keep on missing some folk somehow

Preparations are going OK. I've come across some technical problems but hope to have them resolved tomorrow. Test Pattern generator and Interpolator along with a multitude of other goodies are all here.

We set up the fixed panel projection room today and I spent a while going through each unit setting it up properly. More tweaking tomorrow. The other guys in the shop are slightly concerned that my carpet underlay I screwed to the windows to block the light out makes it look like we are a terrorist cell plotting to blow up central Glasgow

Anyway, I divert from main topic. Thanks to all who are bringing the spare discs I asked for. Usually what happens at these things is that no-one gets to watch anything they know or would like to see. So, if we have time and get through all the dems required I'll see if we can have some short sections of folks own favourite discs on the device of their choice. Obviously this can't happen for everyone. If you have a disc you'd really like to see though do feel free to bring it along and I'll try and fit it in....as long as it is clean! This is a family show..

Also I mentioned on another thread that Richard from Snell and Wilcox has sent up a few special books to be sold off. These are not available in the shops. They are technical handbooks Snell and Wilcox provide to help educate folk as to Video Standards and Formats adn Interfaces. It's a nice hardback. Cover price £25.00 but we'll be doing them significantly cheaper. None of the purchase price will go to us. ALL WILL GO TO CHARITY. Big hand for Snell and Wilcox there I think!

Neil Jenkins is now able to make it too and is offering some DVD prizes from his bulletsnbabes web site.

Look forward to seeing you all soon,

    Gordonnull

Gordon, just a pre event tip:-
Whilst setting up AV gear in the past for other "Events". I found it a good idea to try everything switched on BEFORE the big day!.
This is to avoid the embarressing "has anybody got a match?" scenario.
By the sound of things the electric grid is going to get a bashing. I would hate to see the electric bill!.
Come to think of it, you may be right about the police attention. Just think:-
Windows blacked out - Lights all around shop area dimming/flickering - 60+ of the most dodgy looking people you have ever seen - the sound of gun fire and explosions - people crying(because they can't afford the Barco cinemax!).
Can't wait!
