Just watched event horizon which I have to say is the best Sci-fi/horror to have been made for years!
    My question is this........

I only have a copy on VHS and would like a better version, which is best? I can play all region DVDs and laserdiscs (yes laserdiscs!) so any ideas which one I should go for?

The R2 DVD is porbably the best available. The R1 is one of Paramount's early non-anamorphic titles.

    I take it you disagree?
I think this film is excellent and a lot better than most of the other tosh that has been made lately!

    laserdisc of course :)

i got it recently and i wouldn't be willing to change that excellent soundtrack for a second rate dvd one, for the sake only of a slightly improved picture.

This is an odd one, i love this film, it is a modern sci fi horror classic, but others seem to think it is pish, namely dvd review grr arghhhh. However reading revies on imdb tends to show those who hated it were horrified (is that not the point of horror film) by the gore and the nastiness of the film.
Whilst it was lights on material for me, i loved it and susequently bought it so keep the faith and your money, go for the laserdisc.
