Ive ordered a PV500 from totaldigital.biz. I ordered the UK model but they have just rang me to say that they are not getting any in stock until the end of the month. They are getting some European models in at the beginning of next week. They tell me the only difference is that lack of a freeview tuner on the Euro model. Are they telling me the truth. I am a sky + subscriber so I dont think that will matter.
Anyone with any advice on this?
    Cheers,
    Craig

Yes thats right, the euro model is without freeview tuner.
This model is quite a bit cheaper though , so dont pay full price.

Regarding the lack of freeview over Sky, remember when Sky loses its signal due to bad weather you are stuck with an analogue tuner only.
    Just a thought.

What has Sky to do with FreeView ?

Anyway I'd be more bothered about not having a UK Warranty - that's something the retailer will avoid mentioning.

The UK warranty is now a complete red herring. No such thing as a panasonic on site warranty any more.

I dont know, what does sky have to do with freeview?

The point im making is when sky freezes or drops its signal (weather etc) your stuck with analogue.

Freeview gives you more channels and better pq.

Sorry I misread the original post - yep terrestrial FreeView has advantages over Sky delivered FreeView channels!

They are trying to charge me the same as for the UK model. They are pretty cheap anyway (£1950-ish) but refuse to charge me less for the Euro model. Ill have a go at kicking up a fuss. Any guidance as to how much less I should be paying for this model?
Thanks for the help so far.

Craig i would go elsewhere as they are taking the p--s mate, this euro model was up for £1700 two months ago.

Maybe they are taking advantage of the situation regarding nationwide low stock levels of 500's.

Why buy the euro model anyway?Get the freeview version as its better , and you dont have to mess on with a seperate freeview box.

And I think they are also charging for the wall mount on the E version over and above the £1950 for the panel, they certainly had it quoted separately on the webpage
