Agree! ER has been superb lately - the couple of episodes in Africa, now last nights! My wife was dancing round the room when "it happened", saying "just deserts!"

Spoiler:

Dr Romano (the ******** surgeon who lost his arm through a helicopter accident 6 months ago) was crushed by the same helicopter when it fell off the roof and into the hospital's carpark!

Talk about lightning striking the same place twice! :zonked:

Maybe he did get his just desserts but the program won't be as interesting without him as he was one of the great characters with some of the best one liners on TV.

Kill off too many of the more interesting characters and the program will end up as boring and unwatchable as Casualty.

whilst I agree he did get what was coming, he was a great character

ER has lost far too many of its leads in recent years. There is only really Carrie (and the big boss but he is never in it much) who has been in it of a decent length. Hopefully Carter will come back soon.

Was it really the same one, :) brilliant. It was that ginger's fault too.

...and fall in front of the El.
Romano was a great character but lately he was a cartoon, now just need to lose Carrie, Abbey, Corday and Susan Lewis, as well as Carter.
There's plenty of interesting new faces, doesn't worry me in the slightest losing the old guard.

The new nurse looks far nicer than she did in Scooby Doo and likewise the med student with the unpronouncable name looks far nicer than when she was trying to Bend It Like Beckham.

I thought last nights episode was brilliant   .

Even though Romano was a jerk he was a excellent charactor.

why the heck has Carter been gone for so long? are they testing the ratings to see if they can do without him? had it not been for what happened in the last episode, it would have just got more dull!

bring back Carter!

A few choice Romano quotes. He will be missed in our house. RIP (Retort in Peace!)

"Sweet Mary and Joseph would you look at the size of that gall bladder!_ Jeez, you could feed a small amish family for a week on that thing."

"What’s wrong, is Prince Harry in rehab again?"_ (To Elizabeth when she is crying.)

Nathan: Excuse me, you’re a surgeon?
Romano: That’s the rumor.
Nathan: Uh, I think there’s something here you should see.
Romano: You’re a med student._ You haven’t learned to think yet.

Peter:_ I need to scale back my hours and I need it in writing.
Romano:_ To whom it may concern, no friggin way.

"You know, I always thought of you as a big man, but compared to Jerry you’re just sort of an ambitious elf aren’t you."

"C’mon upstairs sir where the good drugs are."

"Hey, Kerry. What, are you lurking around men's rooms now, changing tunes again?"

"I ordered liver an hour ago and haven't seen my waitress since!"

And lots more here...
