I read somewhere recently - can't remember where exactly now - that Equilibrium would not be out on DVD in the UK until early next year (something to do with the distributor, I believe).

It will be rental from the 28th of July (review of that disc posted in Reviews area) and it will be sell thru 6 months later!

The R1 would be best bet.

Just read your review THX (keep up the good work). Having watched the R1 version I can say the 5.1 mix is generally good (excellent during the action sequences) I found that dialogue was odd though at times as it was diffused (for want of a better word which I can't find) across the front sound stage. This was clearly deliberate but just sounded strange.

Sort of enjoyable way to spend about 2 hours but Mr Bale was really unconvincing IMHO. One great thing about it was the amount of work for British actors - turned into a real luvvy fest (David Hemmings is really slumming it nowadays) & it strikes me that only William Fichtner & Taye Diggs were yanks

What a fantasic piece of entertainment.

    I loved it.

Why the hell is the R1 dvd so bare bones.

This should have had **** load of extras.

These's so much crap being released on dvd loaded with extras, but this diamond has sod all.

You wouldn't think there might be a 'Special Edition' in the pipeline, would you? I won't buy the bare bones R1's anymore - been caught out too many times. I was going to buy Equlibrium, but not if it's a low spec edition.

I thought this was a great film, I taken by suprise of how good it was. It did crap at the cinema but I'm sure it will do well on DVD.
In my opinion it was wrongly marketed as a pure action sci-fi, there is a lot more depth to it that that and I thought Bale was superb in it. Who knows when R2 comes out, get yourself a multiregion player!
