Wow, I managed to see Equilibrium last night on DVD and it is great! Excellant story, lovely visuals, nice scene setting music and cool action.

I think this one will become abit of a cult film....

Are you sure you meant to put an "l" thought it should be a "u" myself, saw it a few weeks ago and thought it was pants apart from the last ten mins which has a fantastic fight sequence.

More plot holes than a very holey thing wrapped in something with holes in.

I thought it was a good film - enjoyable and a good looking dvd.
But then I didn't take it seriously enough to start looking for 'plot holes'.

I have to say it irritated me to such an extent that I suspect I would have been much better off never having seen it.

I liked it too. Great fun.

Quite impressed with the action scenes for sure.

The puppy scene had me a bit worried though.

I enjoyed it thoroughly and would recomend it to anyone who likes this genre. It took bits from every kind of film imaginable but I thought though it lacked originality it made up in it's execution. Nice visuals, interesting story, good action and the acting wasn't bad either. What more do you need from a pop corn movie?

It aint that deep but definatley worth a look. I give it 7/10 (could do better):D

I thought it was a bit naff... It seems to be inspired by Minority Report, The Matrix and Logans Run (some of my favourite films), but it's not nearly as good as these films IMHO. The story is the worst part, and the action isn't as polished as The Matrix.

I know it's not everyones type of movie as my wife certainly wasn't interested in seeing it :)

That said, for me I thought it was fantastic! I thought it was kinda like a wing chun actioner / Gattaca cross

Soon as i saw the first ten minutes of this film it looked like a Farenheit 451 clone, except they weren't firemen.

Best bits were right at the end.... Dissapointing.

if the characters in the film were supposed to have no emotions due to the drug they took - why were our heros (and bad guys) getting so angry (not Mr Bale of course as he wasn't taking it) but that big cheese dude got very angry on occasion. Surely everyone would have been like Data in Star Trek?

The film had promise but just turned out to be crap and very cheap looking.

the bad guys had feelings, and so did the hero - I think that was the whole point? You can't take away the abililty to hurt someone by dimming their emotions, humans want to kill; it seemed purposly ironic to me...In order to stop war they created one etc....

They were all experts at 'sensing' which meant that in order to sense someone you had to be sensing yourself....i.e. you can't know love if you don't know hate.

Well anyway, that's what I thought.

I enjoyed it more than minority report. I dont think the "big cheese" was taking the drugs.

i want to say something but its too hot to think, i think MR was a much better film on every level. Equilibrium was really only a step away from being i BBC sci-fi drama (the the notable exception of the last 10 mins).

An entertaining film, re-watchable fodder, ok may not be ground breaking, but I would rather watch Equilibrium than crap like, The Sphere, Red Planet type of Sci-Fi any day.

I found Equilibrium more palattable as there was some semblence of a plot (depsite being derivative) and it did require an element of concentration.

It was these attributes along with it's clear european origins, that obviously killed it at the US box office, which is a shame as it deserved more recognition.

Just seen the R2 check disc and sound and picture quality are good.
I enjoyed the film, too. Spoiler:
Kind of Demolition man type society overthrow but more believable. And the fight scenes were impressive. And this is while believing no fight sequence would impress me after Matrix Reloaded.
