Epson Stylus Photo RX 560 causes black spots to appear in the corners of printouts on photographic paper 10x15 cm (4"x6"). It is apprently caused by a big drop of ink (it soaks into paper so much that it can be seen on the other side of the paper).
Why is it happening and how to fix it?
These spots can be seen on this scan of 4 pictures (content of the pictures removed):

That is usually caused by printing an image that is larger than the paper or using edge to edge mode. The ink is going off the edge of the paper and is going on the paper transfer mechanism or rollers. You might be able to open the printer cover and clean off the excess with methylated spririts. Alternatively, the prrint head is worn and ink is collecting on the face of the head. Slightly harder to clean but possible. Another source is a slight curl on the paper meaning the print head is not quite clearing it when it reaches the end of the carriage. Is the black blob at the end of the carriage where the print head parks? It may be the head cleaning pad is choked up. Is the printer old?
