Epson PJ customer service experience from hell

    A big hello to everybody here! Despite being an owner of an Epson tw6000 for 6 years from new, I have only managed to use it for 650 lamp hours. Despite this the projector has failed with two flashing red lights and with a bulb change the situation remains. Long story short I contacted a local PJ specialist who Took my mine for repair but deemed it uneconomically viable and sent it back to me. I then decided to call Epson for a full service at a cost of £420 and they informed me at the point of service sale, that by the end of the 10 day turnaround time I would have a working projector, either my own repaired or an equivalent replacement. I have searched my emails and I found this in print from them too. Three weeks down the line they still have not repaired my projector and are awaiting a replacement mainboard however there is no ETA for this part. With Christmas looming I have no source for movies. I have lost many hours on the phone to Epson customer services including a lady called Jean from Hemel headquarters and they are maintaining that they do not provide such a replacement service. I have told them to review the recorded conversations when I enlisted and paid for the services and tonight I have even found an email that states that this is indeed true from my side. I cannot believe such a level of poor service exists at Epson and furthermore I am losing confidence in the brand. I wonder what the views and recommendations from more established members of the AV forum are? Many thanks in advance.

    If you’ve had crap service, why buy another?

    Because at this price point other brands don’t live up to the 9400 or even 7400 for their respective monies. Btw....the case is still open with Epson.....as they are going back to the tapes as I requested.
