Anyone know the cheapest place to get one of these ?

I know Epsom did a cracking show offer earlier this year, but wondered if there was a trusted importer, for example, offering this unit at an excellent price ??:)

True-Blue, could you PM me the same info please?

Also, does anyone know what the warranty situation is with an imported Epson projector?

if you import from outside of the EU ,dont forget the usual import VAT of 17,5%.
whitin EU it's no hassle with the VAT.
the italian shop is 1699£ incl VAT,so it's just the shipping cost...
    (and better warranty)

    Hiya,

yes I appreciate that, but it's effectively a second hand unit, life expectancy of the bulb is quoted at around 3000hrs from memory so over 50% used at 1700hrs.

    Thanks though :)

Edit: am I reading it correctly, or are you saying this is a brand new unit and the bulb is guaranteed for 1700hrs ??

3 year or 1700 hours warranty on the lamp
and 3 years on the PJ.
    1699£ INCLUSIVE VAT.
probably the lowest price within EU...:smashin:

I'd say, £1,300 less than uk list price :eek: for a purchase within europe !

I'll drop them an email and see if a) they understand english (my italian is non existant b) they'll do a pixel/alignment check before sending c) they will actually dispatch to uk and d) if c) is yes, how much postage would be .

That sounds like an awesome deal

Anyone know what grace-period means in a who is entry? That is the status for schermionline.it which apparently expired 6/6/2008.

True-Blue, had a quick look at the Italian Epson site and schermionline were not in their list of authorised web dealers as far as I could tell. The warranty on the official Italian TW2000 seems to be the same 3 years including bulb that we get here but at an official rrp equivalent to just over £2500 so I'm not sure what the excuse is of Epson UK to charge so much more.

If you are going to import you would probably be better off using somewhere that have a proven track record with other members on here, Price Japan quote £1500 delivered via DHL (presume you will be charged VAT on that but no duty) and I think other members on here have dealt with Sam at diewiththemosttoys.

    Hi Dun Buyin,

the earlier link is for ''die with the most toys'' and they seem to be viewed positively, so I may just go with them.

I suppose I was thinking Italy is a lot closer than Canada.

May just go with Sam and stump up the VAT :)

HIVIZONE are selling these for around £1400 plus delivery and you will get an international warranty.

they come very recommended, i used them when i bought my AE1000, Chan the propiertor is a gentleman.

Hivizone are based in Hong Kong. I thought that hong kong was 240v and even the same 3 pin plug as UK (or used to be until hand over) so probably no issues there.

Cool, have just emailed them to ask if they'll do a panel alignment and pixel check before dispatch :)

Hopefully the (claimed) improved black performance over my previous AE2000 may go some way to reducing the impact of my living room viewing conditions

It's either this or a KURO and I've promised the Mrs I'll make a decision by the weekend

Heard back from the Hong Kong based firm, $2840 or approx £1439 (£1690 inc vat- no import duty), with pixel and panel alignment check which sounds excellent

However, and this does concern me a bit,...... they won't take a direct credit card payment ? bank transfer or paypal only:confused:

Is this normal ? should this concern me ?

anyone else used this outfit ?

    Cheers.

hivizone are very trustworthy, there are numerous happy people both on this site and on the avsforums.

i had the pleasure of meeting Chan at his office in Hong Kong - he will also accept moneybookers.

chan has been selling stuff for years without any negative feedback as far as i am aware.

i am interested in why you are moving on from the AE2000 to the epson by the way, when i bought my Ae1000 from hong kong i demoed it together with the Epson TW1000 and plumped fro the panny, i am tempted to now upgrade and was going to0 go for the Ae2000, but now that you are going from the AE2000 to the epson i would be interested in your reasons

I was very happy, delighted actually, with the performance of the AE2000.

In short, I sold all the equipment in my cinema room as I now need to use it as an office..... long story.

Wish I waited, and regret it now as I've discovered a way I can use the room for both purposes..... gutted as I sold my PCUltra and M&K's also but hey ho.

Anyway, was looking at the Epsom as I was intending to use it in my living room and the AE2000 is a very large machine - the epsom gets the WAF seal of approval for the living room ceiling but the Panny doesn't.

I'm now going to try and use my room as an office and cinema, but in case it doesn't work I want a PJ that I can move to the living room if necessary.

By all accounts the TW2000 has black performance on a par with the HD1, from the review on this very site - which would put it ahead of the AE2000.

At the import price it looks like fantastic performance per £ :)

    Hope this helps.

    12 month warrenty ??

Might be worth further investigation though :)

    Have pulled the trigger......

Ordered via Chan at hiVizion for $2840 including 2 day delivery by UPS.

That's £1460.30 exactly which with VAT on import bumps it up to £1715.85

If my dealings with this company go as smoothly as everyone elses then I'll have a Pixel and panel alignment checked TW2000 on my ceiling by about the middle of next week :smashin:

....I'm not considering the not going smoothly option:rolleyes: PMA and all that:D

I'm really bl:eek::eek:dy excited as the review by Phil Hinton says that this has black performance on a par with the HD100, with better colours but without the same level of image depth. I can cope with the lesser image depth for less than half the price. Even better is the fact that after a week, my bat cave seems to function very well as an office come cinema - bright lights for the office stuff. So I'll be using it in ideal conditions too.

For the record, I'd still be happy with another AE2000 as I feel it's an exceptional PJ, but thought I might as well give this a go as it should be even better.

The only reason Phil doesn't give it reference status is price and something to do with anamorphic, which doesn't bother me anyway.

So at the import price it should be an excellent machine.

Scores 10 for black performance and it's LCD

One of his emails stated that stock was limited but that may just have been a sales ploy, who knows.

Phils review reads very positively doesn't it, 'What hifi' only give it three stars but I know who I trust out of Phil and What Hifi :D
