If it was me and this is just my opinion I would get a side by side demo. I certainly wouldn't spend that sort of money on any other item without seeing/feeling/test driving it.

Hi Slim what did you think about the hd25e which I take you've seen at richer sounds against the 6100 which I would think is in a completely different league!!! If you could push your budget further the Epson tw7200 ive been told is the one to go with and you would see the largest increase in performance quality of picture from what you have now.

hi mojo never saw the 25e compared to anything as their demo room was being refurbished (only saw it for about 15mins or so), but I did not think it was any better than my Epson 5900 ...£1800 is a bit steep for me for the Epson 7200 not too sure I want to spend that much....cheers

Don't think you'll see much improvement going from the 5900 to the 6100 imo.

We've just had a customer who sounds a little like you. He demonstrated the 6100, HD25e and HD30. He could see the rainbow effect on the HD25e, yet on the HD30 he did not see it at all ("don't ask me why"). He was going to dismiss the HD30, however, when he saw it, the extra sharpness and quality delivered by the HD30 made it easy an choice.

Its a shame you are so far away as you could come and view all three Projectors.

    Regards, Shane.

I agree with the above! the trouble with the pj game is there is always something better out there for a more premium price and just like the camera came a new model / s come out every six months or so pertaining to give you even more of this or that! but in real term percentages they are very small climbs on the ladder.............Good luck Slim I'm sure you'll chose the correct pj for slim.........I did!! :)

I've been undecided between the same two projectors as well, but tonight I just ordered an Epson TW6100 from Superfi. Open box deal at £979. Also an extra 10% off until Monday so got it for £881.10 including free delivery.

Well, after an evening and morning playing with it, I can only say WOW!
Ok, this is my first projector, so can't really make a comparison with anything else, apart from my 40" Sony tv, but I am absolutely blown away with it so far. And that is based on projecting to a plain papered wall from the dining table giving me a max screen of 68". It will go into another room in a few weeks, suspended from the ceiling where I will have a 92" screen and 7.1 surround sound.
Only used Sky 3D as I don't yet have a 3D Blu-Ray player, and that was pretty impressive. I can't believe I got this at the price I did.

I know that feeling as I ordered my TW3200 on Thursday on next day delivery:- it didn't turn up yesterday and it still isn't here today and I am gagging to set it up and have a play. Very annoying that I will have to wait until Monday at the earliest and will probably have to wait until next weekend to set it up.

Glad to hear you are pleased with your new toy - I'm jealous!

None. Everything was literally out of the box settings. The sheet pinned to the wall may not be exactly square though! The image is 85" and projector is 2.5m away on full zoom and is 80cm from floor level.
The pic was taken from one side.

I don't want to change any settings until the projector is in situ in my cinema room.

Yeah it must be down to the screen / sheet not being square as it makes it look like you have keystone dialled in:).

Yes it did arrive but I have been a little busy this week to really play with it.

I did have one mini screening with the mrs to see what she thinks and it was very positive! Originally we were going to semi convert our garage into a home cinema but discussions this week have resulted in us deciding we will probably move this year so I don't want to be wasting money on something I will get little use out of.

Therefore I started a temporary install yesterday and am hoping to finish it this weekend - I will put some pics up early next week to show how I have got on.

The projector itself is big but the image quality is superb for what we want. Wish me luck with the project as I didn't progress very far yesterday :0(
