Hi People
Hope you can help as I've sent a email to Epsom and they just said they have stopped making 3d glasses and couldn't recommend any other, as they have not been tested by them...... Anyway i went and bought some very cheap Samsung rf active glasses to at least have a go. My set up is a esom ls500 with amazon fire stick plugged into my HDMI and a vividstorm 120inch screen. Just thought id give 3d a go in my own home as I know some new Avatar films are due soon in the cinema and wanted to see the original as well as some 3d content on YouTube.
I opened YouTube and found a 3d ocean scene movie and then pressed the button on glasses which the Epsom picked up as a message came on screen but when I put glasses on nothing was happening, all I could see is the 2 video streams side by side. I'm most probably being a muppet as not sure they are the right glasses or if that i need a dedicated uhd 3d blue ray player or media player to play files from a hard drive OR 3D BLUERAY.
Any help would be great just need some good quality 3d glasses as projector says it does 3D.
I must say I'm enjoying the projector picture but sound from projector isn't great but have just bought a atmos sound bar which works great for me.
All the best guys hope someone can help.

Hi I don’t have the same projector but on mine in the 3D part of the menu you need to select the type of 3D you are watching. I.E. side by side top and bottom etc

Interesting this is a picture of settings menu as well as glasses and what it says when glasses on button pressed. I cant do anything with the 3d option as it wont let me select it. cant see anything for side by side either.

I play mine through an Apple TV but you need to set to 1080 in the menu on the Apple TV to work . The menu can only be adjusted when you play a 3d file .

Think it might have to have the certain glasses to activate it maybe. This is what it says in manual in pic below. Someone on this site has got to know. Just a shame Epsom aren't more helpful.

As @Phooo mentioned. You need to set the fire stick to output at 1080 otherwise it will ignore the 3d signal if set at a higher resolution.

Hello, i also have the epson ls500 and would like to know if you managed to sort the 3D feature out. And what did you do to resolve this. Thanks

The 3D only work with 3D blu ray players or 4k ones that play 3D blu rays. The glasses if they say connected work find. Alot of fire sticks don't put out the signal.

I just purchased the LS500 this past month and I'm able to use both Samsung SSG-3100GB and Samsung SSG-3300GR glasses that i purchased over 10 years ago for my Samsung Plasma 3D tv.
