Stock is still making its way across. This includes your chosen 95 series speakers. Just finalising security clearances etc as its a large order. I'll pm you as soon as I have a fixed date. I'm reviewing the position a number of times a day believe you me. Frustrating for all.

Hi, I just seen your Filmex material @ £20mtr. Can you also supply the frame & tension pieces to make approx 100" diagonal package that I can then put together myself? Im looking at a couple of options online but I know with yourself I would be getting decent materials. Im not on a great budget either... Im just across the water in Dublin.

    Thanks Jag.

Unfortunately, I don't supply the frame and tension pieces.

Given that you live in Eire it would also cost way more to send bits across.

The usual frame is made up of timber. Building one is a piece of cake, it really is. The best bet would be to measure out the size of the pieces, pop along to B&Q or a warehouse with cutting facilities and ask for them to cut the material for you. You'd then simply screw this together, paint it black and thereafter staple the fabric to the screen. I'm sure the wife will do a mighty fine job of that.

There are plenty of youtube video's that assist in this regard. I have a pdf file that I could forward to you if you provide your email address.

Filmex is priced in this fashion as it's intended purely for diy projects. There's little point unfortunately in myself posting timber that could warp in transit.

The kits i have been looking at have steel frames that come mitred for the corners... So is it just a case of making the rectangle frame & for support a couple of cross lengths for the rear after i staple the Filmex on?

How many mtrs of filmex is needed for 100"s diagonal? Would I be right in assuming 6?

Thanks again & also for quick reply. Will send you on my Email address...

A few pic's of the XTZ Divine's. Available for £1220 each. Perhaps the best sounding bookshelf speakers in the under £10k bracket. Comfortable with either hi-fi or a high end 5.1 system at easily achievable prices. High clean SPL's and a very enveloping sound. Don't believe me? Side by side's welcomed.

    Available here:

    Dedicated stands

A great way to relax on a Sunday evening. The sound produced by these speakers is Epic!

    AVForums Members Exclusive:

I have an absolute exclusive for the membership. Be the first in the UK to hear the new Master M2 bookshelf speakers. Arriving in the UK for a fortnight as of next Friday!

The cabinet is made from a high-density epoxy/polyurethane composite and for the first time XTZ is using a 30mm soft dome tweeter with waveguide technology.
The ingredients in the new cabinet are epoxy, polyurethane, potassium carbonate and organic bubbles, and the result is a cabinet that is 40 per cent more dense than MDF, according to XTZ. It also has a narrow baffle to improve dispersion, and non-parallel walls to keep resonances to a minimum. The 165mm-diameter bass/midrange driver is one developed by XTZ in collaboration with SEAS and uses the new woven polypropylene ‘Curv’ cone.

This new cone is the world’s first self-reinforced 100 per cent polypropylene composite and offers extraordinary levels of impact resistance, light weight and high stiffness,’ . ‘The magnet system is equipped with heavy copper rings and there’s a solid copper phase plug which reduces flux modulation and eddy current distortion, which results in a smooth, extended frequency response that crosses over perfectly to the new tweeter.’ -XTZ

The XTZ M2’s 30mm soft dome tweeter has dual neodymium magnets to ensure high efficiency and high power-handling, and is fronted by a waveguide that further increases perceived efficiency and offers superior and uniform high-frequency dispersion. ‘We developed the waveguide to achieve the perfect balance between optimal energy dispersion, optimised crossover point and best high-frequency performance,’ said Siljeskog. ‘In other words, the best possible compromise between spreading, efficiency and distortion. This makes adapting the speaker to various listening rooms very easy.

The XTZ M2’s crossover is an advanced Linkwitz/Riley type, with 12 and 18 dB/octave slope for midrange and tweeter to ensure minimal minimal phase shift and good transient response. The filter uses MOX resistors, air-wound inductors and Mundorf capacitors. All internal cabling is 99.99 per cent pure copper that’s been twisted to reduce skin effects and interference.

Thanks to the inclusion of removable socks for the bass port, you can operate the M2 in two different configurations—bass reflex or infinite baffle. The cabinet measures 424×231×374mm (WHD).

The Master M2 will be on demo at the Forum Event scheduled for 23rd November 2014.

Would you like to share your views on the Master M2 with the membership?

I'd like to try something unique. I'd like to open up an invitation to 2 members to visitand formally review the Master M2. Share your views with everyone else. Any volunteers, please do get in touch.

    Hi Anthony,

Thanks for your interest in Filmex. If you pm me your email address, I'll forward the pdf. The PDF deals principally with install options.

Thanks to Jag for hosting my son and I Friday evening and Saturday morning. We had a good listen to the XTZ range of speakers with music on Friday, and then the cinema series on Saturday. The main reason for going was to listen to the cinema series which we were both impressed with.

    Thanks again

    Graham

Did Jag still have the M2's there, they are pretty special for music and not that expensive either at about £1400 a pair IIRC.

Yes, loved the looks and the sound of those. Our main reason for going was to audition the cinema series though, and I am seriously considering three m6 and two s5's

Great, they are on the money and sound great as well, IIRC you have a couple of DIY 15's or 18 subs they will sound epic with the cinemas. I have 2 x 15's and my room ROCKS!!!.

Separately, we have also replenished stock of the XTZ Pro microphone. This is the very microphone used by Arcam themselves when calibrating their units at training events etc. Limited stock available with special offers available for those acquiring the Arcam 550 or 850.

    In stock at £90 delivered.
