EP30/Optoma h79 problem

Hi there,

I received my EP30 a couple of days ago and am pleased with it so far, however...

When I connect to my Panny plasma, all works perfectly all the way to 1080p.

But, if I have the machine connected to my PJ (Optoma H79) via HDMI/DVI-I lead and I get no picture at all. I have tried multiple max resolutions (from 480 to 1080), I have replaced cables, and have used the Optoma HDMI/DVI-I adapter.

The projecter supports HDCP. I think I have seen a purple flash a couple of times when I have first switched on (if I have the PJ on first).

Sky HD works as 720p/1080i using the same cables.

If I connect the Ep30 via component, I get 1080i no problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Paul

Hi Jon.

Only when I use an HDMI-HDMI cable. I have used this combo once.

I normally use an HDMi to DVI-I cable. That is the standard cable i used on both my previous DVD player (Denon 1920) and sky HD.

Hi Jon,

I don't think it can be the adapter.

I have used the adapter with the HDMI-HDMI cables and without the adapter for the HDMI-DVI cable.

Both are decent cables and both are 10-15mtr long. Never had a problem with either cable with any other application (Sky HD, Denon DVD etc).
