This looks good...from EOS magazine Canon has announced a new entry-level digital SLR - the EOS 350D. It has an 8-megapixel sensor, 3 fps shooting speed and a burst rate of 14 frames (Large JPEG). The camera is a replacement for the EOS 300D, but many of its features are closer to the EOS 20D. It uses Canon's DIGIC II processor, which offers improved performance in many areas. And unlike the 300D, the new model offers user-selectable options for AF and metering in the creative zone modes. The UK suggested retail price of the EOS 350 (body only) is £749.99. The camera will also be available in kit form with the EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 lens at £799.99, and with the EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 and EF-S 55-200mm f4-5.6 II lenses at £1029.99. Availability is expected to be April 2005. ***** New macro lens for EOS digital cameras Also new is the EF-S 60mm f2.8 Macro USM lens. When attached to the EOS 20D, 300D or 350D, the lens gives a similar field-of-view to the EF 100mm macro lens used on a 35mm camera. The UK suggested retail price is £349.99. Availability is expected to be April 2005.
