Hi everybody,

it has been years since I last wrote in this forum, that time I was still a teenager...so nice to see you again!

So, this is my situation: I finally have an apartment with a decent living room, not big though, and I want to buy my first decent 2.1 setup to listen to music and enjoy films decently. I am not a power addicted, so I don't care about massive volume. All the source has to come from an HTPC that has a optical output (and all the PC outputs).

At the moment my setup is very poor: the HTPC is connected to a Zero DAC via USB. Then it goes to a old Logitech PC subwoofer that amplifies and send signal to two small speakers.

My idea is to keep the HTPC and buy an amplifier with optical input (a DAC would be perfect, but I think more expensive), 2 bookshelf speakers and a compact subwoofer, everything for under 800€.

As a newbie, I looked around and I put my eyes on:
-Yamaha A-S301 amplifier
-Yamaha NS-B210 speakers
-Yamaha NS-SW210 subwoofer

I saw even some Pioneer speakers
-Pioneer S-31
-Pioneer CS-3070

That's all, unfortunately I do not know so many brands, so I focused on the most famous ones. Can you give me any opinion/suggestion? Thanks!
