    W T F !!!!!!! ???????

    is this even possible o_O

Bruce Lee was & forever is: Enter The Drsgon.

This film can not be made.

Why couldn’t they just make a similar film but not name it as a remake.

JCVD did Bloodsport ... so there are ways & means.

    I don’t mind remakes .. but Bruce Lee is a Legend ... literally a legend !

I’m not sure I can get my head round this one at all :nono:

I wont be Bruce Lee. But they can still improve the movie. Enter The Dragon was merely a Kung Fu Bond film, so I dont see a problem with updating that. And be honest, a lot of it was pretty ropey.

We'll always have Bruce, so why not?

This is unbelievable,it's fair to say that some remakes work and some just dont, cinema at the moment appears to have little drive when it comes to new material and so remaking movies appears to be the only way to get bums on seats, unless of course it a superhero movie.lol.

Now there's nothing to say that a new enter the dragon cannot work, but it wasn't the film itself that was a massive hit, it was more of the star of the film and who he was that made it huge, this is one remake that for me simply should not go ahead.

I'm surprised this has happened but I'll still watch it if it makes it all the way to release. It might even turn out to be ok. I'll still love the original, I'll always remember the revelation of just how wide Bruce's beige flares actually were when I saw it in 2.35:1 for the first time. But I'm sure if he didn't meet his untimely end he'd have made plenty of much better films, given more time.

if only his opposition, and support cast were not so hammy in Lee's movies.
they need to find a new approach to this remake and try to avoid mimicking Bruce Lee.

It wasn't his best film but it still has many classic scenes. Leave well alone.

Hollywood's been remaking films for as long as there's been films around to remake. I think they must have taken my soul decades ago, which could explain why whenever I read they're remaking something else I don't feel anything about it, either good or bad. There's far worse things happen in the film industry than remaking old films and the new versions don't exactly act as an eraser, the old ones are still around.

I don't personally find remaking films to be any different to bandwagon jumping or endless sequels, as far as films go. There'd be much less choice of things to watch if everything had to be based on a 100% brand new original idea, and if a remake ultimately turns out bad that hasn't really got anything to do with the fact that it's a remake.
But that's just me, I try to be open minded until they present me with something I can actually use to form a constructive opinion about it

Difference with this remake is that the original film is legendary because of the actor and not the other way around (like a lot of remakes).... Robocop is a legend of a film but not because of peter weller for example....

I'd like to see this done well but without the man that really makes it im not sure how this is possible..

Just to add... if they wanted to remake a Bruce Lee movie they shouldve gone with Game of Death - the finished article is miles away from what Bruce wanted so a good remake could really do it justice and please the fans.

But its the film they're remaking; they're not attempting to replace Bruce. Lee was a legend but as for the rest of the film, there's loads of room for improvement.

I can't believe more people aren't mentioning the fact that this is David Leitch we're talking about. The man is an action maestro and his films are brutal! The stairway fight in Atomic Blonde is one of the fight scenes of the decade.

This I agree with. However if we support this film, its probably likely we'll get that Game of Death movie.

yeah i get that and thats partially why im not sure it deserves a remake - like you said the film is a bit kung fu meets 007. The film became awesome because of its star not necessarily because it was any good - although i personally love it (big Bruce fan) and if its gotta happen (and it likely will) would like to see snoop dog as the williams character :D

agreed on Leitch though (atomic blonde is one of our go to movies when we cant agree on a sat night) and obviously Wick is awesome as well so that does give me some hope.

What I've never understood is why studios don't remake crappy films that had a good premise but were poorly executed. Something like The Running Man, made closer to the source material could be great. Do remakes even make a lot of money anyway?

so who do you all fancy for the main roles...

Han - John Saxon - old enough and could maybe be argued as a sequel of sorts that he took over after the events of the first

Bruce - Stephen Chow maybe - not sure on this

Williams - Snoop Dogg for me :D

Bolo - Dave Batista maybe but not sure he fits Leich's style.

participants - some decent cameo's getting killed off in the tournement could be good - reynolds/reeves etc would be a nice touch.

They need to go for things that are likely to be known to the public. Remakes are all about brand recognition, not fixing bad movies. Enter The Dragon is the best known Bruce Lee film which is probably why they went with this instead of Game of Death.

You have to think like a businessman.

    Ooh I like this game.

Lee: Zhang Jin (maybe too old?)
Williams: Michael B Jordan (Jamie Foxx would have been perfect 15 years ago)
    Roper: Dan Stevens/ Chris Evans
    O'Harra: Kristofer Hivju
    Han: Hiroyuki Sanada

for me, the question is does anything that's actually 100% genuinely original make a lot of money?

List of highest-grossing films - Wikipedia

I look at that list of 100 films and all I see are franchise films, sequels, spin-offs, films telling the same stories that have been filmed before, films based on books or comics... with a film that's just giving a fresh coat of paint to an old much-used story concept sitting at the top, called Avatar.

When the majority of the audience doesn't seem to be too concerned about things like "originality", why would the studios be concerned? They just go where the money is. And it seems to me the vast majority of the paying audience are the ones leading them there

I'd probably enjoy this as a novelty, but the original is one of my all-time favourite movies.

Bruce Lee was a legend in the true sense of the word, I hope they treat the movie with the respect it deserves.

Agree, for me Fist of Fury is his best, just so much raw power.
I like ETD,except the bit were he jumps up into the tree while hiding from the guards, too far fetched.

But again, leave well alone, dont remake it.

It's an outrage, an outrage I tells ya! The original is the the Vault of Prestige and cannot be remade otherwise we lose our souls. Etc.
