They get great reviews on avsforum, particularly for music. I have been told there is no distributor in the UK at present, though Chantry Audio seem to have a couple of pre-owned ones on sale.

No Uk distributor is of course good as far as money goes ;)

I have seen quite a few online and they seem good value considering some of them are being compared to the big Theta and Lex's. I have seen older ones (encores and such) for under $1k..... fair enough it doesnt do PL2 which I want..... but that is alot of machine if you want a musical processor for simple 5.1. Also I have been quoted just over $4k for the latest theatermaster 8800pro..... the top of the range model..... wish I had the money to just buy one for the hell of it!

I have never heard of them but I'm not overly impressed with the spec of the products. In particular the power supplies in the power amps, 1200 VA for 6 x 200W and 2000 VA for 8 x 300W. My 1205A is 5 x 140W and has 1600 VA....

Yes, but it's the pre/pros, and particularly the 8800 which are raved about.

I have an 8800Pro, sound is absolutely first rate, certainly better than any other processors I've heard to date. The analogue pass through is as good as many dedicated audiophile preamps.
EAD do have a Uk importer - they are listed in this months Hifi news in the AV supplement.
The power amps are good, but not in the same league as other top flight models.
I havent looked at the DVD players so can't comment on them.

Vikingboy,

Did you actually use the UK importer? Knowing the UK, the price is probably ridiculous and any fault would require returned to the US anyhow.... I was wondering whether it would be worthwhile importing (got a quote of $4400 for the 8800 pro).
