I have recently landed a pair of Mission 781 bookshelf speakers and
the 78c centre speaker courtesy of a friends upgrade.

The receiver I have connected them upto is my Onkyo TD-S676 (85w per
    channel).

The question I am asking is...'Should I upgrade my receiver to a
higher spec model (such as Denon 3803, Onkyo 800) to get more of my
speakers especially in two channel mode or should I add a power
amplifier (such as a Rotel RB-1050, Cambridge Audio P500) via the pre-out of my receiver and
hook my speakers to the amplifier?

What would be the better sounding option for the money?

    Thanks
    Kosta

In my opinion only you can really answer this question yourself.

If you are happy with the sound then leave well alone. If not you will need to audition the options to see which you prefer.

The Missions are good speakers, my brother has them (with the matching surrounds) connected to a Sony 940 Receiver and they are a good match and work well in his smallish flat. Don't know about your amp however but the rated at 85W compared to 100? for the speakers should be fine just dont run the amp at max, not that you are likely to go that loud.
