Ok, so assuming England got first call on any English players... whereabouts do you think they would finish if they contested in the Premiership...?

Based on the last few England performances, I'd say Newcastle would be very worried about the England threat to their survival come the business end of the season... :D

Assuming they played as much and gelled as well as any other outfit... top 6 maybe?

I'd back Hull City against England based on tonights dismal performance.

I don't know where they find these players from as they don't seem to have the desire to play for their country.

If I was the manager I would look for someone big, strong and quick up front and who better than Freddie Flintoff. He would be fed balls from the wing by someone that could bend it both ways and the obvious candidate at the moment is Simon Jones. The midfield needs someone defensive minded as well as an attacking option and Ian Bell and Kevin Pietersen would be ideal in these roles. The old fashioned inside forward position is tailor made for Michael Vaughan and with his grasp of tactical matters as well as his motivational powers would be an obvious choice for captain.

Ashley Giles would slot in well at centre half as he has the ability to defend his end well but the biggest problem for the manager would be that of goalkeeper. He seems to think highly of Calamity Jones and says that he's worth his position due to his free kicking. I have my doubts but at least he's better than KP who has so far let in 6 out of 6 in the qualifiers

OK Ian, Eng will lose last test, and the cricket fever will prove to be nothing more than a passing fad. My bad?
