I currently have a 5.1 system consisting of:
-Pioneer FS51 tower speakers for fronts
-Pioneer C21 center speaker
-Pioneer BS21 for surrounds
Is a pair of Energy CF-30s tower speakers of an upgrade over the Pioneer FS51?
The FS51 towers have 3x 5.25" woofers while Energy has 2x 5.5" woofers. The specs say the Pioneer towers have a lower frequency of 45Hz and the Energy towers have a lower frequency of 43Hz; however, I crossover my subs above that frequency so I don't think it'll make a difference.
Spec sheets don't always mean much but here they are anyway:
Energy : Connoisseur Series : CF-30

I'll eventually upgrade the center speaker, but I'm worried about timbre matching if I can't find a matching Energy center speaker in the future. The Energy tower speakers cost $200 (Canadian) for the pair, and I'm sure I can resell my Pioneer towers for close to that much on Kijiji so it really won't cost much.
