I think I'll be heading to HMV on release day for this one
and to think I, in a rush of hurried excitement, paid like £25 for a """preorder""" of the target steel instead
oh [endless sigh]
nah tho I don't even have a HMV in my town anymore pray4me
Pass, will just be renting the film.
Movie any good? No doubt will be a lovely steel
A brutal film - not overtly, no gore but at the end it sinks in what is done in war to win.
Never seen the movie but know the plot of the novel. Apparently the plot was stripped down for them movie because the tones of the novel were a lot darker. Usual story!! Not sure about this one, critics haven't been too kind to it
It was shortened, a film of the whole book would have been at least four hours long.
There is very little violence and no gore in it.
If you have read the book then you see the real story. If you haven't you have to watch carefully.
I know the plot of the novel, obviously I'll post no spoilers. It'll be interesting to see how this is conveyed in the movie
First look at the Artwork.... Mondo style like Looper
Ooooooo now I'm interested! Love an HMV exclusive I do!
Looks horrible to me. Definate pass!
I disagree, but each to their own.
Artwork like this is the dogs danglies!
Agreed. It's a Mondo too and that means quality art.
I'm with you...so nice to see a different art style on a steelbook. I love the Looper one and this looks as good.
This went from a maybe to a day one purchase
Shame there might not be any HMV left open to get one from
Not even Mondo art will make me wanna buy this. Not that I could anyway, HMV left this sinking ship a while back.
This is interesting indeed Mondo Gallery commissioned Martin Ansin's artwork for the print so its not really 'Mondo' art. Looks like he may have sold it off to the studios for steelbook artwork...
Its not his best piece but still looks great, he's one of my favorite illustrators. Not a bad idea at all putting Mondo art onto a steel! At least the artwork has some originality and looks half decent but its personnel preference, you either like it or you don't...
Nice art, shame it's wasted on this bunch of meh.
Not a fan of the film so a pass for me
I really liked the film, so day one purchase for me
Bunged in a pre order at my local this morning. £15.99 if you wanted to know.
Well my local HMV have changed supplier. It may be the end to HMV UK steelbooks.
Not getting what you mean there Pixel.
If its the last hmv steel then it's a lovely one to end on
Guaranteed purchase with that artwork... Not seen film yet though... Any advice on it?
Not much obvious action, I think it works much better if you have read the book.
Not sold on the film at all, only seen the trailer (which did nothing for me) and read some reviews on RT but it just looks like Teen sci-fi with tons of CGI, a lot of reviews say most of the time it's like you're watching some one play a computer game.
Nice looking steelbook, a fan of that artwork style, but i doubt it'll end up in my collection.
