I will be going for 8 Mile and The Ring.

Ghost Ship is rubbish don't waste your time or money, I wish I could have those 90 minutes back!:(

This supposed release drought we are going through at the moment has been the most expensive DVD purchasing time of my life.

Where did you see 'The Ring' for a Feb Release?

Both Play and CD-Wow show it as March 4th.

Looking forwards to seeing it again.. Saw it in November whilst away in Canada on business.. Very impressed that someone has finally made a horror film which didn't follow the 'Scream' model!

Already got Ring on order, a friend in the States saw it and said it didn't disgrace the original ;)

Will also be buying Ghost Ship, safe in the knowledge that it'll be as poor as all the other Dark Castle releases but hey, we've also got Gothika and Macabre to come and you have to build a collection somehow :)

Anyway, a few more tries and they might make a decent film :D

BTW, 8 Mile is a cracking film. Saw it at the cinema and really enjoyed it. Wasn't going to bother with the DVD til I read there's an unrated version and the extras include additional rap battles not seen in the film itself.

I was actually tempted to buy House on Haunted Hill and 13 Ghosts after seeing Ghost Ship, it made them look great!

i assume we are talking about the hollywood remake of the ring?* not the excellent Jap orginal?

Americans seem to have to remake forign film, dont know why i think its because Bush voters cant read and watch at the same time - it over loads the brain cell.

The DVD release in March is the US remake.

I agree, the Japanese original is excellent but I have also heard from a very reliable source that the remake isn't anywhere near as bad as it might have been and holds it's own ground fairly well.
I have to admit, they've done the TV spots and trailers brilliantly.

The reason i said The Ring is out in Febuary is because that is the shipping date at movietyme, remember 90% of the time you get films before their offical release date.

I have had The Ring on pre-order for a few weeks now.

Not interested in much else on the list apart from maybe Swimfan, but may buy Road to Perdition and I Spy when they become bargain bin material :D

    And here we go again:

"According to Variety, Massy Tadjedin—a new screenwriter who rewrote the thriller THE JACKET for Mandalay Pictures—has signed up to script the Paramount remake of THE EYE that Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner are on board to produce. THE EYE, about a blind woman who receives a corneal transplant and ends up seeing a lot more than she wants to, still has no director or start date."

I typed in the actor's names on IMDB.com and it brought up the film with the original Chinese title, it had 7.4 or 7.2 or something like that so it sounds promising :)

Also have a look on rottentomatoes.com and search the Web with the Chinese name, I found a few other reviews and they were all promising!

    Alf,

Got my 'Internal Affairs' DVD from CD-WOW this morning.

It's a well presented 2-disk affair with a nice slipcover.

Oddly, slipcover seems to be left-handed, ie you remove the keep case from the left hand side, not the right  :D

Just as an aside, The Eye is on cd-wow for 8 quid as well, so I mailed them and they are getting other ones from the Tartan Asia in like Bangkok Dangerous etc, and they said they think they will be about the same price (9quid).
